ACRL 2015, Book Awards, and a 50th Year Celebration!

What we've been up to lately...

Preparations are under way for the Association of College and Research Libraries conference, held in our hometown of Portland, OR. The ACRL, the largest division of the American Library Association, is a professional association of academic librarians and other interested individuals. Over 4,000 members attend this conference, which meets every other year. We are very excited to be a part of this amazing conference.

Publisher News…

Food of the Southern Forests from UWA Publishing is the Australian winner in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in two categories- Best Local Cuisine Book and “Best Woman Chef Cookbook!

Once a year Choice chooses a list of Outstanding Academic Titles that were reviewed during the previous calendar year. This prestigious list reflects the best in scholarly titles and brings with it the extraordinary recognition of the academic library community. This year Class in Soweto by University of KwaZulu-Natal Press and Ireland in the Medieval World AD 400-1000 from Four Courts Press were chosen. Congratulations to the authors and publishers for such outstanding work!

In other news…

Congratulations to the Littman Library of Jewish Civilization which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2015! Producing books that are definitive texts in Jewish Studies, the press is a leader in the field. The Littman Library’s books become classics due to their high editorial and production standards and the in-depth research into philosophical, historical and religious subjects that they present.
